If you checked your phone’s screen time report right now, what would your daily social network usage look like?

High. I am actively engaged in feeds, chats, and groups for a few hours a day.

Low. I try to limit my screen time and only check social apps occasionally.

Moderate. I pop in and out throughout the day to check notifications.

Realistically, can you commit 2-3+ hours every single day to active community management?

My daily schedule fluctuates too much to guarantee a specific number.

Around 30 minutes to an hour while I'm catching up online.

2 to 3+ hours easily. My schedule is very flexible.

When weekend plans come up in the group chat, are you usually the one pitching the itinerary, or waiting for the link?

The Bailer. I love my friends, but half the time I end up staying in to recharge.

The Attendee. I am always down to go, but I wait for someone else to make the plan.

The Initiator. I am dropping the itinerary, booking the reservation, and setting the time.

An elegant new venue just opened in your city and it perfectly matches the community's aesthetic. What is your immediate reaction?

I save the location to my personal list to maybe check out for a quiet date night.

I send the link to the admin chat and say, "We should definitely set this up!"

I immediately look into their group reservation policy and pitch it to the team as our next outing.

A discussion thread becomes heated and arguments break out between members. What is your next move to de-escalate the situation?

I quickly lock the thread and issue warnings to everyone involved.

I gently step in with a calming comment to validate both sides and lower the temperature.

I drop a lighthearted, engaging poll nearby to distract and redirect the energy.

I temporarily hide the thread and message the admins so we can handle it objectively.

The community feed has had no new activity or discussions for the last 48 hours. What specific action do you take to re-engage the group?

I enforce a new rule requiring members to introduce themselves or post once a week.

I go live or post an engaging, high-energy question to get everyone talking again.

I review our community analytics to see if we need to adjust our overall strategy.

I reach out to a few highly active members privately to encourage them to post.

A new member attends her first in-person event. She arrives alone and looks visibly nervous. How do you naturally interact with her?

I welcome her at the door, take her coat, and seamlessly guide her into the main room so she settles in gracefully.

I immediately walk over, warmly introduce myself, and personally connect her with a few women I know she will click with.

I strike up a quiet, one-on-one conversation with her away from the large crowd to make her feel comfortable and heard.

I stick to chatting with the members I already know, assuming she will mingle when she is ready.

A local group trip is planned for next week, but the RSVP numbers are lower than expected. What is your strategy to increase attendance?

I cancel it and suggest we plan something a little easier and less demanding.

I evaluate the pricing and timing to see why it isn't converting for future reference.

I drop outfit mood boards and hype content in the feed, tagging people to build excitement.

I privately message members who I know would love it and personally invite them.

You notice a recurring pattern of new members asking the exact same questions, which is starting to clutter the main feed. How do you handle this?

I simply delete the repetitive posts and issue a reminder that members must use the search bar.

I pitch the creation of a streamlined "New Member Guide" to the admin team to solve the root of the problem.

I patiently answer their questions in the comments to ensure they still feel supported and welcomed.

I create a highly visible, engaging weekly "Welcome & Q&A" thread to redirect their energy into one positive space.

Your daily work and responsibilities are done. What does your typical evening routine look like?

Completely unplugging to focus entirely on my family or myself without distractions.

Unwinding with my phone or laptop, catching up on group chats, and engaging online.

Running errands, handling household tasks, and maybe scrolling for a few minutes.

A popular member you genuinely like breaks a major community rule. What's the move?

I make a public example of the situation so everyone knows we are serious.

I let it slide with a light warning because they bring so much good energy to the group.

The standard is the standard. I handle the discipline objectively, just as I would for anyone.

I privately message them to explain why it was removed, preserving the relationship.

Between daily moderation and planning 12 local events a year, this role requires high energy. Are you truly all in?

I am confident about the daily online moderation, but 12 in-person events is too much.

Absolutely. I have the free time, the passion, and the drive to make this a priority.

Overwhelmed. I want to help out, but I cannot realistically commit to this right now.

I am ready for the fun events, but finding 2 to 3 hours every day for online moderation is tough.
